Dominos

As I was playing dominos with a good friend a few weeks ago I kept looking at the pattern and placement of the tiles. I'm always looking for examples to use in my writings. The thing that came to me was the word 'Love' and how I could explain what I was seeing. We set up the play, with an infinite pattern that twists and turns and then falls back on themselves, following right down the line. Everything we do creates a cause which has an effect. Stand back and watch the chain continue as love is spread from on person to another. We are the sowers, so let us plant the seeds of love. Reach out and touch someone today. Sow the seeds of love toward one another. A simple touch, a simple word, or just a smile is all you need to sow love.

Dinner is Served

Rebekah, David, and Meghan came over and fixed dinner for Dave and I. They did a great job. We had Pasta, bread, salad, and brownies for dessert. It was great having them over. Afterwards we all sat around and talked (except for Dave who was trying to conquer a 1500 piece puzzle which he received at Christmas from my sister). Thank you one and all for a wonderful dinner.

Expressing Myself

This seems like a good place to express my thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I take what is written in my journal and share it here on my blog.

I memtioned in my last post to never have an ordinary day. I guess what I was saying was to be daring, be different, be impractical. Be anything that will assert imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of common place, the slaves of the ordinary.

Take my writing course....I have my imaginative juices going on overdrive. words are things, and a small drop of INK, falling like dew upon a thought, produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions THINK. I look at writing as nothing more than a guided dream. I believe dreams are God's way of showing us our journey of life. Each of us has a fire in our hearts for something. It's our goal in life to find it and keep it lit. The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them to the impossible.

We all have to walk down that pathway. We will make wrong turns but remember that we make success out of our failures.

To launch a dream is like the mind taking a breath of fresh air...Like a surprise gift always waiting to be opened...Like a journey to a favorite place. It is real. It is reachable. Nothing can take away your dreams.

My Thoughts Were On A Roll

Never have an ordinary day. Does that sound strange? I read that somewhere and it made me think of time wasted. Seems like there is never enough time in the day to do all the things I would like to tdo. I try not to have regrets for time lost due to my own stupidity. I look to this day, for yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Did you know that's why we have a tomorrow...so we don't have to do everything today? Very profound.

Life is not about the amount of breaths you take, it's the moments that take your breath away. I also know that life is full of interruptions and complications. Everyone has their trying moments. Learning to get through them is a real challenge. I have the tendency to get angry instead of looking at it as a God given opportunity. I am learning to let my heart guide me because it whispers to me in that wee small voice. As Christians, God is the very center of our hearts. I guess all of us at times tend to shut off the voice of God if He is telling us to do somethng that is contrary to what we want. We have heard the saying, "keep both feet on the ground." If you did keep both feet on the ground you wouldn't be able to take a step forward. We can't go forward if we keep looking in the rearview mirror.

Life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences. It's a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan.

At times the world can seem an unfriendly and sinister place. But believe me when I say there is much more good in it than bad. And what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events, may in fact, be the first steps of a wonderful journey of life. We know that life takes us down bumpy roads. What we've got to develop are good shock absorbers. Fear is one of the stumbling blocks that keeps us rooted to one spot. Fear is like a giant fog. It sits on your brain and blocks everything...real feelings, true happiness, real joy. Nothing can get through that fog. But you lift it and when you do, you're in for the ride of your life. So hang on tight because I am learning that fear is only a manifestation of those things that were implanted in me by the fears of others. Time is the healer. Sitting here mending my body, I have had lots of time on my hands. I don't want to waste those moments. Hopefully, I have put them to good use.

Today the adventure begins...Today I leave the path that is easy, and take the path that was chosen for me long before I was born. Never is never too late. I want my journey to really count for something. I want to dream big dreams. I want to fulfill my destiny. They say dreams are the windows of the soul..take a peek and you can see the inner workings, the nuts and bolts of life. I think everything in
life begins with a dream. Where do those dreams come from? I believe God put those dreams in our hearts and it is up to us to fulfull those dreams. It is our choice to sit and do nothing, or to reach out, grab hold, and take that journey of life without looking back. Yes, I sure have made my mistakes. Haven't we all? Today is a new beginning. Yesterday is gone forever.
