Church??

I heard from a friend in Maryland yesterday who called to tell me how thankful I should be for having a Pastor who sticks to the preaching of the Word. (I am very thankful and blessed). She has some friends who turned in their notice of termination to the church they were attending. They are very disillusioned with the church in general. Their Pastor showed a movie last week and this week talked about his second job. This is not the only person who is having problems within their home church. I don't want to single any one denomination, but you who read this be very cautious. There are many men and women who take the title Pastor, but have had no training or instruction. They pick up their bible and off they go.
Another one of my friends has been church hopping for years now looking for 'just the right church.' Problem is, they look at the same type of worship they have grown used to. I told them, to seek elsewhere and to ask God to lead them where they should go.
It's funny how we get stuck in a mold and can't get out. We like our comfort zone,. and the older we are the harder it is to change.
Hopefully, when they pass through here on their way West they will stop in and join us for a Sunday church service and fellowship.

Some More Drawings

Been busy doing more drawings. Most of these were done in colored pencil. The one of Dorothy was done in pastels. I am getting closer with my detail and colors. I try and experiment with different color combinations to get a good skin tone. Still working on it but am satisfied with where I'm at right now.

Father Day

A couple of pictures taken at the Wagners cook-out. Had some great spare ribs, beans and potato salad. Chris says that now she is the favorite daughter since she wouldn't dream of going away over Fathers Day.

Happy Fathers Day

Our poor ole HP Printer has given out. It has developed a mind of its own. When I tell it to print 1 copy, the copies keep coming until I hit cancel. When I go to scan something, I have to shut it down and restart each time. So, Dave and I headed to Best Buys for a new printer. Ended up with another HP but with all the whistles and bells. Happy Fathers Day to my wonderful husband. With all the photography he does, he wanted good quality photos with the ability to add/take from the photo.

Heading to the Wagners for a cookout today. We'll take our cameras, take pictures and enjoy the compnay and the food. Might even take my sketch pad.

Happy Fathers Day Bill. Enjoy your vacation. If you see Jimmy on the beach, I'd find me another location quick. Miss you guys.

Sweet Land of Liberty Chorale

Sure missed you up there Cindi. My camera was giving me a hard time again so I was only able to get a few pictures. Dean joined us for the concert and afterwards we headed to Buddy's for ice cream. Boy was that good ice cream.

Yes Lauren, I remembered to give Dean a hug.

More of my Art Work

Ok, so its not perfect, but at least Dave knew who they were. I wish portrait drawing came as easy to me as it does to my grandson David. I'm better at scenery. I like a challenge and I really love doing portraits. I just need to practice, practice, practice.

Finished at Last

Well, I went back to Anderson Hospital and retook the Echocardigram. Let's hope they don't misplace this report. Should get the results back by middle of next week.
Now I can relax and enjoy the concert tonight. They gave Dave a huge speaking part. He has been going around the house reciting the Gettsburg Address until I had to finally put earplugs in to concentrate on what I was doing. I must admit it sounds pretty good even it he doesn't look the part of Ole Abe Lincoln.
Sure wish you were singing Cindi, but know you and Bill are having a much needed vacation. Enjoy your time with family and friends.

The Ole Question-Why?

I got myself all syked up for this echocardigram and went in as scheduled. Even had the assistant help me undress since my arm is next to useless. I was able to lie on the table, but my right arm gave me fits. I endured until the end. Glad that is over. The icing on the cake was that when I got home the hospital had called to tell me that my pictures got lost and I would have to come back tomorrow to retake the test. I could not believe it. Not sure I can do this again right away. Talk about being irritated. This is the 3rd time my results have gotten lost. What is going on? Of course with my memory the way it is lately, I can't even remember where the other two tests were located. All I know is that one was in MD and one here in IL. Seems like when my tests are over, I put them out of my mind for good. Enough is enough. Not sure what I'll do now.

Reflections

I sit alone with my thoughts
Trying to understand my distress.
Why do the tears come so often?
Why does my anger explode?

My thoughts are all jumbled
My distress bears watching.
My tears are a release from turmoil,
My anger a way of excape.

Oh morning, why do you take so long?
the night brings darkness and shadows.
Only morning brings sunshine and hope.
Oh morning, why do you take so long?

Oh morning, where is the sun?
Bring the freshness of a new day.
Do not let the shadows of night
Hide the morning light.

Oh morning, why do you take so long?
Open the window of a new day.
Come fill my heart with your sunshine
Make my life as new as the new day.

Bring with the day a ray of hope.
Opening the way to a firmer faith.
Oh morning, why do you take so long?
Oh morning, why do you take so long?
