Working at It
I have been working on this portrait for about a week trying to get the right skin tones. Still not completely correct but it's coming along. I started with colored pencil and changed over to pastel which gave it a more natural look. I figure with all the practice I put in, I will get it right eventually. After I work on the skin tones some more I will post it again.
Even though scenery is my forte, I have really enjoyed doing the portraits. It might not come as natual to me as it does to my grandson, David, but I want to hang in there and work at it until I get it down. One of these days when I can catch David away from the computer and Megan, I will sit down and have him show me how he does a portrait from beginning to end. You can learn much by watching others draw and paint.
